Since our God is the God of second chances and he has given us the opportunity for restoration, we need to be the people of second chances. Being the knuckleheads we sometimes are, we are bound to hurt each other.
When this happens we need to forgive as Paul instructs to do in Ephesians which reads, Be kind to one another, tender. In Gods choice of his humanity we see the reflection of Gods choice of ourselves. If God chose him by grace, we cannot argue for any other basis for his choice of us.
And in Jesus Christ we also see the life that responds to grace. For he lived his life under his Fathers authority in grateful obedience and according to his will. Phrased that way I think the question is confusing.
It implies that people have only a "first chance" in this life, and that God would somehow be very strict if He did not give them a "second chance" after they die. The truth is, however, that in this life God gives people almost innumerable chances to draw near to Him through repentance and faith.
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you Amen. Matthew And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen. Matthew Finding Meaning in the Midst of Suffering. In his classic book Where Is God When It Hurts, Philip Yancey gave us permission to doubt, reasons not to abandon faith, and practical ways to reach out to hurting people.
And now, thirty years after writing his first book, Yancey revisits our cry of Why, God in three places stunned into silence by the calamities that have devastated s: The abundant life God longs to give you will only be received in areas where The God Of Second Chances Experiencing His Grace For The Rest Of Your Life book acknowledge your weakness and need.
It was the thief hanging on the cross, acknowledging his own sin who received the gift of eternal life, not the pious and successful high priest who, in his pride, fought to crucify the very Savior he had been asking to come.
We experience God's grace because God is gracious. In Exoduswhen God is showing himself to Moses, we read "The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
" Gracious is used here as an adjective describing God. It is one of his attributes. Gracious, the Hebrew word channun, in its verb form, means to be considerate. This is why its not good news that God would be a God of second chances.
We dont need a second chance. Wed forfeit that one too. What we need is a Holy Substitute who gets it right the first time. We need someone to step in and win the race for us. We need someone to suffer in our place for our sin and we need someone to be perfect in.
Amazing Grace has to be one of the most familiar Christian hymns of all time. I haven't done any studies on it, but it seems to find it's way into all kinds of Christian and secular movies. If you start the song on a Sunday, everyone present will sing along, not just those who grew up in your is a vivid reminder that something is "amazing" and worth singing about, namely, "grace.
The Lord had given me a second chance to do His will. Jonah wasnt confused about Gods will, he was rebellious. Even so, God gave him a second chance. Jonah says, Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time.
The Lord worked through Jonahs poor choices and the resulting circumstances to lead him back to the center of. The second prayer will be the one that you should do at least once or twice a year for the rest of your life so you can let God know that you mean serious business with Him as to who should be running your life and that you will continue to let Him have the reigns of your life.
Let his persistent grace bring you to repentance, so that you can fulfill Gods call on your life. But, also let us be warned, Today is the day of salvation (2 Cor ).
We are not guaranteed tomorrow, and his grace may not persist in the same manner as today. Ephesians For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God (NASB: Lockman).
Greek: te gar ch ariti este sesosmenoi dia pisteos; kai touto ouk ex humon theou to doron. Amplified: For it is by free grace (Gods unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christs salvation) through [your] faith.
God has revealed His love and grace to mankind from the beginning. Contrary to both orthodox and modern views of theology, God is manifested throughout the Old Testament as a God of LOVE AND MERCY. Lets understand the most basic characteristic of the nature of God. First of all, GOD IS LOVE.
Everything God does flows from His love. His is the greatest government because its ruled by the greatest ruler-the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. He is the only hope of mankind.
I also hope the government of your life is on His shoulders, that He rules and reigns even now in your heart. The child was at the point of death in his home in Capernaum some 25 miles away.
Yet distance or space was no obstacle for the Lord. He only had to speak the word-Go your way; your son lives-and the boy was healed in the same hour (John 54).
These 2 miracles or signs point to Jesus as the Lord of time and space. For more than years OMF International fieldworkers have labored for Gods glory in East Asia. Originally founded as the China Inland Mission, we have been known as OMF for since This section contains quotes from some of the early pioneers of OMF Internationals past.

In this chapter God is reminding the people that they are in covenant with him. He is their God and they are his people, and that knowledge brings in its wake tremendous responsibilities. show us his heart. God works in our hearts by showing us his heart.
In the fi nal chapter of the Jonah story, look for Gods heart. He is the God of a second chance-not so much giving us a second chance to do what he wants us to do but giving us a second chance, and a lifetime of chances, to see his heart. True to the rest of the book, the. In them, the full resolution of grace and justice awaits the final eschaton, when the Lord makes all things new and his grace and justice are perfectly and completely revealed.
Until then we will face the challenge of understanding and applying Gods grace and justice. But with the Spirit, we can begin to know and adore God and his glory.
The grace of God is His choosing to bless and favor us rather than curse us as our sin deserves. It is His benevolence to the undeserving. Grace began in the garden of Eden when God killed an animal to cover the sin of Adam and Eve (Genesis ).
Instead of destroying them for their disobedience, God displayed His grace to them. Paul accepted his assignment and did a degree turn-and he never forgot the second chance God gave him. Later in his ministry, Paul said: I dont care about my own life.
The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me-to tell people the Good News about Gods grace (Acts NCV). The hard heartedness of Gods people, persisting in sin and ignoring his calls to the point of exile and even the destruction of his temple, still does not lead God to totally reject his people.
Rather, the exile has a prophetically defined limit (2 Chron. ; compare Jer. 12), which will lead to the mercy of Cyrus and a new. Bono on the difference between Grace and Karma.
Janu J Jon Kuhrt. Its a mind-blowing concept that the God who created the Universe might be looking for company, a real relationship with people, but the thing that keeps me on my knees is the difference between Grace and Karma. Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
(Deuteronomy ) People should work and rest as God instructs because of his model in creation and his model in redemption. The sixfold blessing of the tithe will change your life in every area.
When you tithe, God will open the windows of Heaven for you and pour you out so much blessing that His provision overflows your need. He will rebuke the devourer off your life. The Psalmist repeatedly commends the patient nature of God to us The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love (Psalms ).
James correctly warns us to be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger (James ). No doubt the heart of God is full of grace to His own. God conquered Pauls heart. There are three phrases that point us to Pauls God-centered view of his salvation: 1) who has given me strength, 2) he judged me faithful, and 3) appointing me to his service.
Each of these points to the awe-inspiring fact that a sovereign God. By your grace, O God, Juliana, together with the first Servites, strengthened in faith by the sacraments and nourished with the Word of life, proclaimed the wonders of your love, and prayed for the health of the sick and for the conversion of sinners.
That during his whole life on earth, but especially at the end, Christ sustained in body and soul the anger of God against the sin of the whole human race. This he did in order that, by his suffering as the only atoning sacrifice, he might set us free, body and soul, from eternal condemnation, and gain for us Gods grace, righteousness, and.
It is a beautiful story of a life changed. Kara charges readers to seek Grace both in the mundane of life with our families and in the tragedies of cancer and chaos.

Thy life is secure, for this is God's constant plan-he keeps his own elect alive till the day of his grace, and then he takes them to himself.
And inasmuch as thou knowest thy need of a Saviour, thou art one of his, and thou shalt never die until thou hast found him.
Your second fear is, "Ah, sir. The grace of God is given unto us because he loves us and he is the God of another chance!-Our past is not relevant to receiving his Grace.
-Our transgressions will not prohibit us from receiving his Grace. -His Grace is the result of his outpouring love for us. (2) Lets look into the Scripture and see the impact of Gods amazing grace.
Indeed, its not uncommon for Christians who suggest that if you dont feel Gods presence in your life, if you arent receiving his guidance in an unmistakable way, then the problem is yours.
